Our Policies

Our policies regarding our Red Cashmere Goats:

We do not provide stud service or sell semen from our red bucks.  We maintain a closed herd.

We do not sell pregnant does or young babies.

Only yearling bucks, yearling does, fiber wethers and occasionally some adults (bucks and does) from our breeding herd are for sale.

All goats currently for sale are listed on the web site.  Yearling stock will be available for sale every other year.  We will keep a waiting list.

We can not sell totally unrelated breeding pairs.  Red is a double recessive color which requires line breeding and inbreeding to maintain the color.  All of our goats are related to some degree. But we will share our experience about developing, breeding and maintaining the red color with the new breeder.  And explain how to develop a red bloodline by adding our cashmere goats into your herd.

We do not accept checks or money orders.  Cash or PayPal transfers only.wpff23b92d.gif

We do not accept back any goat taken off our farm.  If you are unhappy with your purchase, it will be your responsibility to sell the goat to a new owner.

Our Guarantee

When you purchase a Cashmere goat from our farm, you will receive:

A goat that is in good health and is fully groomed and trimmed.  No maintenance will be required for three months.

A full pedigree and health record of all shots and medications given.  We tattoo the Oregon Scrapie and herd ID number in the ears.

For the buyer:  To our knowledge all goat(s) are sold in good health but if a health problem develops or the goat dies, we will refund the full purchase price.  This refund guarantee applies to 2 weeks from time of purchase only.  We will not replace the goat with another.

For a Out of State Purchase - Yearlings & Adult goats only.

The buyer will be required to cover any additional costs for: all required paperwork, a health certificate from a veterinarian, and equipment (buckets, collars, leads) needed for transport.  A statement of expenses incurred for the transport and all papers from the sale, not necessary for transport, will be sent to the buyer.

All transport expenses incurred to date by Foxmoor Farm will be deducted from a deposit refund if the sale is canceled by the buyer.

Goats for sale are available for pick up at our farm or by ground transport.  We will not ship by airplane.  Regulations for each state vary and the final destination determines what is required.  It is the responsibility of the buyer to check their state regulations and to arrange ground transport by a licensed livestock carrier.

We will provide transport to the veterinarian and transport to the pick up location.

We have had our goats since 1991.

For the waiting list:  A deposit of  25% of the purchase price will be required to reserve the goat(s) for sale.  If the buyer cancels the sale, notice of cancellation of the sale must be made by telephone or by e-mail immediately.  The deposit will then be promptly refunded.

Transport arrangements must be completed before October 1st.  No exceptions.

We value the well being of our goat(s) and want to ensure their successful transfer to a new owner.  That means our goat(s) must have time to adapt to their new location and settle into a new herd before winter weather begins.  Winters in Oregon are milder than other parts of the U.S.

Our herd and farm name (Foxmoor Farm) is registered in the Cashmere Goat herd book.  Our herd code is “FXMF.”  It identifies all the cashmere goats that we have bred and raised on our farm.

We welcome farm visits from March to September.  For the well being of our goats we suspend farm visits during breeding season and the birth of the babies.
